Religion over-regulated in Latvia

RIGA - A confusing and complicated law dealing with the registration of religious groups has created a system of religious haves and have-nots in Latvia, according to the general secretary of the Latvian Bible Society.Valdis Teraudkalns questioned the government's handling of religions such as the Anglican Church, Jehovah's Witnesses and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in an interview with TBT."You can't get rid of new religions by not registering them when they are existing," said Teraudkalns.
