Changes announced in immigration laws

TALLINN - The citizenship and migration board announced changes Sept. 21 to the laws regulating who is eligible to apply for residence permits and where applications may be presented.With few exceptions, applications for limited-term residence permits must now be presented at an Estonian representation abroad. Until now, the law has allowed foreigners to apply for permits in Tallinn.Exceptions to this rule include foreigners who already hold a residence permit in Estonia, spouses and children of Estonian citizens, ethnic Estonians who are citizens of another country and foreigners who arriv...
