Latvia, Lithuania finally prepare border pact

RIGA/VILNIUS - After six years of negotiations, the Latvian and Lithuanian governments are poised to ink a sea border agreement that would knock down a barrier that has stymied oil exploration in the region.Critics of the border deal, which would draw a straight line out from the land border into Swedish waters, say Latvia will lose neighboring oil deposits as well as fish stocks to the Lithuanians.
