VILNIUS - As Lithuania clears hurdles on its way to membership in the European Union, the EU information center in Vilnius is promising to get out information to the local population on what membership means. Lithuania took a long-awaited step toward membership in the union this month when the European Commission recommended that entry negotiations should begin with the Baltic country.
