Yuletide culture, for a change

  • 2004-12-22
While the end of the year is traditionally a time of unabashed hedonism, you can always get a fix of sober culture by attending the international theatre festival Midwinter Night's Dream, which will be held at the Tallinn City Theater (Linnateater) from Dec.27 to 31.

The fest-ival aims to bring high quality but accessible theatre productions to an Estonian audience, and this year includes performers from the Gesher Theater from Tel Aviv, the KOM Theater from Helsinki, the Backa Theater from Sweden and the Belarus National Theater from Minsk. The program will make use of all the Old-Town-based facilities of the Linnateater, including the cozy Horse Mill building. All performances will have synchronous translations into English and Estonian, or subtitles (except the Minsk Theater performances).
