Jewish community marks 10th anniversary

RIGA - Latvia's Jewish community celebrated the 10th anniversary of its rebirth Oct. 8 in an event that evoked memories of the past while highlighting the problems of the present.More than 200 people, including Latvian leaders such as Prime Minister Andris Skele, Riga Mayor Andris Berzins and a representative from the office of President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, gathered at the recently rebuilt Jewish community center on Skolas Street."To think of where we were in 1941 and to look at this now.
