RIGA (BNS) - The orchestra at the Latvian National Opera is suing opera management for more than 11,000 lats ($18,965) for its failure to provide musicians with full per diem expenses during a guest performance in the United Kingdom.Aldis Grunde, the orchestra's trade union leader, confirmed that the group is suing for 11,631 lats because 28 musicians who toured the United Kingdom and Ireland in September and October were only paid 24 pounds sterling ($40) per day instead of the 35 pounds sterling provided for under regulations approved by the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers.The Latvian Nation...
