Government urges Landsbergis to sell

VILNIUS (BNS) - Lawyers for the Lithuanian government have proposed Parliament Chairman Vytautas Landsbergis sell the disputable acres of land in a prestigious district of Vilnius through an authorized person.The proposal came in response to the request made by Landsbergis last week to form a commission to sell the plot at an auction and turn over the profit to a charity.The governmental press service said in a release that it understands "the Parliament chairman's concern and his noble aspiration to relinquish his plot of land and donate the received money to charity.""However, Lithuanian ...
