The incredible edible

One of Germany's most controversial directors is to make a film about Armin Meiwes, who was jailed six months ago for killing and partly consuming a man he had met via the Internet.

Rosa von Praunheim's film, entitled "Your Heart in My Brain," is expected to be shot later this year. Meiwes' case attracted global attention, but he was only jailed for manslaughter as it transpired his victim had fully consented to being killed and eaten. Von Praunheim said his film would show Meiwes in his prison cell, talking to his victim's head, which apparently asks Meiwes to eat him again

A new independent film that opens in the U.S.A. next month has been hailed by critics as one of the most terrifying films ever made. "Open Water" tells the story of two scuba divers - a husband and wife - who are accidentally abandoned in the middle of the ocean when their tour boat leaves without them. Based on a true story and shot in the grainy, in-your-face style of "The Blair Witch Project," the film shows the horror of being abandoned at sea to a tortuous fate of cold, fear and starvation. Oh, and a few ravenous sharks as well.
