VILNIUS - Lithuanian Post will temporarily suspend all shipments to Middle East countries starting Monday.
The suspension affects shipments to the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and Oman.
"The delivery of postal items to these countries is being halted due to military actions in the region. Air transport for shipments has become impossible, as logistics companies transporting parcels by plane have informed us of flight cancellations," the company said in a statement.
Lithuanian Post said it will provide further updates on the resumption of services. Shipments already accepted from senders but not yet dispatched to the Middle East will be returned, while parcels that have already left Lithuania will be delivered where possible.
