Lithuania ready to launch cultural exchange program with Germany – Nauseda

VILNIUS - Lithuania ready to launch cultural exchange program with Germany, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said as he and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, currently on an official visit to Lithuania, took part in a discussion held on Monday at the Thomas Mann Culture Center in Nida.

"The Lithuanian president emphasized that Lithuania, drawing on a centuries-old tradition, is ready to develop a broad and ambitious cultural exchange program with Germany," the presidential press service said.

During the meeting, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier presented Germany’s national award to Vitalija Teresa Jonusiene, founder and first director of the Thomas Mann Culture Center.

Earlier in the day, the Presidents of Lithuania and Germany, together with the First Ladies, visited Klaipeda, where they explored several historical and cultural heritage sites.
