VILNIUS - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys and his Costa Rican counterpart Arnoldo Andre Tinoco signed a cooperation agreement on political consultations in New York on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
Budrys welcomed the intensified cooperation between Lithuania and Costa Rica, expressed hope that the agreement would contribute to the development of bilateral ties, and invited Costa Rican officials to visit Vilnius, the ministry said in a press release.
"The minister thanked Costa Rica for its strong position on the Russian aggression in Ukraine and called for it to be maintained," it said.
The two ministers also discussed "economic security and China's economic coercion."
Budrys is in New York this week to take part in the United Nations General Assembly's 80th session debates and other high-level events. His agenda also includes bilateral meetings with senior officials and policymakers from various countries.
