Legendary Latvian dancer Vija Vētra dreams about returning home

Despite two hip surgeries, 96-year-old Latvian dancer and choreographer Vija Vētra continues to visit her native land of Latvia to offer locals the opportunity to watch her perform, and attend her masterclasses.  She was awarded the Order of the Three Stars by the Latvian government for her meritorious service to Latvia. Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis, who was once the director of the cultural center invited Vētra to Latvia in the 90’s to perform at the National Theatre.
