To strengthen defence industry cooperation in the Baltic and Nordic region, Latvian ammunition manufacturer Ammunity has signed a letter of intent with Mesko, one of Poland’s largest and most strategically important defence companies. Mesko specialises in the production of ammunition, missile systems and military equipment and is part of the Polish state defence industry group Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, which brings together dozens of defence industry companies.
The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen the resilience, security and sustainability of ammunition supply chains by promoting closer cooperation between industry partners. European countries continue to invest in the development of defence industry capacity, making reliable access to critical components and stronger regional cooperation increasingly important.
“The defence industry is currently of strategic importance, and close cooperation between companies in the region is essential to strengthen security of supply, production capacity and long-term resilience. Cooperation with Mesko is an important step both in the company’s development and in strengthening regional partnership,” says Kaspars Pollaks, CEO of Ammunity.
He adds: “As strategically important defence industry partners and critical infrastructure operators, both companies see long-term cooperation, security of supply and the strengthening of Europe’s defence capabilities as essential.”
