RIGA - The first Covid-19 related death in Latvia has been confirmed, Latvian Television reports.
The patient was a 99-year-old woman who had been receiving treatment at the Latvian Center for Infectious Diseases of Riga East Clinical University Hospital since March 27. For the first three days, the patient was treated in an intensive care unit.
As her condition stabilized, the patient was transferred to the recovery ward for further treatment. Even though she had been infected with Covid-19, her cause of death was other chronic conditions.
