TALLINN – A German Air Force unit is about to take over the NATO air policing duties performed out of the Amari air base in Estonia from France next week.

The ceremony of the handover of the rotation will take place at the Amari base on Thursday, spokespeople for the Estonian Defense Ministry said.

The German Air Force will use four Eurofighter jets to police the skies of the Baltic countries.

The French Air Force contingent currently based at Amari uses four Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets.
