Five Tips To Travel In Style On A Budget

Anyone can travel in style; you just need to know how to do it. Travelling in style doesn’t mean that you have to go broke just to be comfortable and still look good. You can travel stylishly on any budget if you know the right tips and tricks of the trade. Let’s take a look at five of my top tips for travelling in style on a budget.

Planning

Picking out which country or continent you would like to explore is the first step. Once that's done, it's time to take the next steps and pick out where you want to go within that place. Our guide to Iceland will help travellers research and understand what they need for their trip.  If winter isn't your season but you're still looking for some cool places to visit, we have guides from all four seasons.

Pack Light

The first tip for travelling in style on a budget is to pack light. The more clothes you bring, the heavier your luggage will be and the more it'll cost to check it. Try and bring only what you need, or at least take some pieces that can match different outfits. Be sure not to forget any of your essentials like underwear and a swimsuit.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

One of the biggest mistakes you can make while travelling is wearing uncomfortable shoes. There are so many different types of footwear out there, and it's important that you find something that will work for your specific needs. If you're going on vacation, for example, then you'll want to choose a pair of sandals or flip flops. On the other hand, if you're going hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro or exploring underwater ecosystems, then you'll want to invest in some sturdy boots.

Carry an Organiser Bag

An organiser bag is essential for any traveller. They're great for storing items like your passport, wallet, and phone. You can also put things like sunscreen or moisturiser in it so you don't have to carry them around with you all day. Plus, they come in a variety of colours and designs that add style points while travelling. I love this one from The Sak. It's the perfect size to hold everything I need and more, but if you're looking for something smaller there are tons of options out there. I personally recommend getting a patterned one as they just make everything feel extra special.

Know What You Need

Your destination should have the most impact on what you pack. What will you be doing at your destination? Who will you be seeing? What does the weather typically look like at that time of year? If you're going for business, pack a few conservative outfits. If you're going for pleasure, it's time to get creative with your wardrobe. No matter where or why, don't forget your passport, basic toiletries and any medication if necessary. A credit card can come in handy as well as an international cell phone plan. Make sure to dress appropriately depending on how conservative the country is and how strict customs are.
