VILNIUS – Ex-Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has become a member of the International Advisory Board of the Atlantic Council, a US think tank.
According to her spokeswoman Goda Bacenskiene, the former Lithuanian leader was invited to join the board by Frederick Kempe, president and chief executive officer of the Atlantic Council.
Board member are elected for a three-year term.
Founded in 1961, The Atlantic Council is a NATO strategic research center that focuses on security and defense issues, as well as politics, economics, energy and technology, and contributes to the shaping of policy decisions and strategies.
The International Advisory Board includes former presidents and prime ministers of Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Poland, Sweden and other countries.
