TALLINN – European heads of state are congratulating Kaja Kallas and the Estonian Reform Party on their election victory on social media, among those issuing congratulations are the heads of government of Estonia's immediate neighbors as well as the prime minister of Ukraine, the daily Postimees writes.
"Warmest congratulations to Kaja Kallas on your elections results. I'm looking forward to continuing our close cooperation," European Council President Charles Michel tweeted.
"Delighted for my friend Kaja Kallas after today’s victory in the Estonian elections. Since the beginning of the war, Kaja Kallas has been a strong voice for our support to Ukraine. We will keep on working together: for peace with justice, for security," European Parliament President Roberta Metsola tweeted.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also sent his congratulations to Kallas and also thanked her for her steadfast support of Ukraine. "Congratulations to Kaja Kallas on the decisive victory of her Reform Party in the Estonian parliamentary elections. Thank you for your steadfast support of Ukraine," Shmyhal tweeted.
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, who is also facing parliamentary elections in early April, also congratulated Kallas. Congratulations were also forwarded by Latvian government leader Krisjanis Karins and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte.
