RIGA - The European Commission's Vice-President for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Suica is scheduled to make a visit to Latvia this Friday, LETA was told at the EU Commission's Representation in Latvia.
During her visit, Suica will meet with President Egils Levits and Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity). The EU commissioner also plans to meet with representatives of the Demographic Affairs Center and participate in an event dedicated to the opening of Croatia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Suica and Saeima European Affairs Committee chairperson Anda Vita Terauda (For Development/For) will join a discussion on strengthening democracy in Europe and Latvia, the European Commission's Representation in Latvia informed.
The discussion will focus on public involvement in decision-making processes and current EU affairs.
