European Commission presents 2030 climate plan for greener EU

BRUSSELS - The European Commission on Thursday presented its new climate plan for 2030, including a tougher target to cut emissions to 55 percent of their 1990 levels. Frans Timmermans, European Commissioner for the European Green Deal, said the future of the next generations was at stake if the EU failed to take action now. "Only two months ago I held my first grandson ... I also worried what sort of world would he live in when he reaches 20 years of age," he said.
