Estonian Foreign Minister to hold consultations with 4 countries this week

TALLINN– The Estonian Foreign Ministry is about to hold consultations this week with delegations from the foreign ministries of Ukraine, Belarus, Norway and Croatia.

Consultations on development cooperation and humanitarian aid will take place between the foreign ministries of Estonia and Ukraine in Kiev on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Estonian delegation will be led by Juri Seilenthal, director general of the Foreign Ministry's department for external economic and development cooperation.

On Thursday, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Estonia and Belarus will take place in Minsk. The subjects to be discussed include Estonia-Belarus relations, economic and cultural cooperation, development cooperation and relations between Belarus and the EU. The Estonian delegation will be led by the director general of the Foreign Ministry's political department, Paul Teesalu. The Belarus delegation will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Kravchenko.

On the same day consultations on matters of the EU will take place in Tallinn between the foreign ministries of Estonia and Norway. The subjects to be discussed include the Estonian presidency of the EU Council, Brexit negotiations, the Eastern Partnership, Norwegian financial mechanisms, the cooperation in the Nordic-Baltic region, and bilateral relations. The Estonian delegation will be led by the Foreign Ministry's acting deputy secretary general for European affairs, Aino Lepik von Wiren. The Norwegian delegation will be led by the director general of the department for European affairs, Niels Engelschion.

On Friday, consultations on the EU will take place in Tallinn between the foreign ministries of Estonia and Croatia. The Estonian delegation will be led by the Foreign Ministry's acting deputy secretary general for European affairs, Aino Lepik von Wiren, and the Croatian delegation by assistant minister for European affairs, Zrinka Ujevic. The delegations will examine Estonia-Croatia relations, Brexit, the EU enlargement, the Eastern Partnership and migration. The Croatian assistant minister will also meet with the Estonian deputy minister for EU affairs, Matti Maasikas.
