Cross-Innovation Day (CIDAY2026), organised by the contemporary art platform De Structura, will bring together cultural professionals, public sector innovators, industry leaders, researchers, and creative thinkers for a full-day exploration of how artistic methodologies can power cross-sector innovation. The event takes place on 6 March 2026, 10:00-18:00 at Kai Art Centre in Tallinn, Estonia.
This one-day programme is designed as a hands-on, facilitated environment where participants can experiment with art-based methods in real, cross-sector contexts - from defence and security to circular economy and engineering. CIDAY26 will feature panel discussions, group workshops, parallel sessions, and 1-on-1 walking dialogues, encouraging exchange across disciplines and sectors that do not usually intersect.
A central highlight of the day will be the Cross-Innovation Compass - a practical framework for orienting art-based cross-innovation that has been developed by De Structura in collaboration with Arteconomy and support from EIT Culture & Creativity. This new resource offers actionable strategies for organisations seeking to embed artistic approaches within policy, business, or institutional processes. Attendees will be among the first to gain early access to this tool.
Speaking about the initiative, organisers highlight that innovation today requires more than incremental improvements - it demands openness, experimentation, and the ability to engage with uncertainty. By bringing artistic perspectives into dialogue with public, private, and research sectors, CIDAY2026 aims to unlock new ways of thinking, collaborating, and building resilient systems beyond traditional silos.
Due to limited capacity, the organisers encourage interested professionals to complete an expression of interest to participate.
