RIGA - Latvia’s Aerodium is building seven vertical wind tunnels in different countries of the world this year, said Aerodium Technologies representative Liga Gablika.
She said that the wind tunnels are currently being constructed by Aerodium franchises in several countries, including Bahrain, Slovenia, and China, to serve military needs in three Asian countries, and for show business needs in China. “All seven wind tunnels will be launched by the end of this year,” said Gablika.

She said that the company has also had several short-term rental events, for example, a flying show and flying services were ensured to customers in one of the most popular sports events in the US -- the National Football League draft. “We gained a lot of publicity in the US market,” she said, adding that a flying show was also made during presentation of latest Mercedes Benz cars in China.

The main task by the end of the year is to launch all seven vertical wind tunnels and start successful operations in the franchised tunnels. “Agreements have been signed on building new franchise tunnels, and there are several other agreements in progress,” the company representative said.
Speaking about the company’s largest customers, she said that these are owners and developers of shopping malls and entertainment parks, event organizers, the military segment, and ambitious heads of states.
Aerodium Technologies, registered in 2012, has a share capital of 3,000 euros, and belongs to Irita Kukoja (85 percent) and Uldis Baumanis (15 percent). The company makes wind tunnels that can be used for bodyflight and indoor skydiving.
