Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska thanks Andra Levite for promoting support to Ukrainian people

RIGA - As the presidency of Egils Levits draws to a close, Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska has sent her Latvian counterpart Andra Levite a letter of gratitude, emphasizing the good cooperation and especially the close friendship that has developed between the presidential spouses of the two presidents, Justine Deicmane, head of the Latvian president's press office, informed LETA. 

In her letter, Zelenska thanks Latvia's outgoing President Levits and his spousse for their "constant support and assistance to Ukraine and solidarity with the Ukrainian people during this brutal war that Russia is waging against our country". 

In her letter, the spouse of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanks Levite for her active participation in the implementation of several projects related to the mental and psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainian children, as well as for her contribution to the implementation of a mental health program to support Ukrainian children and women most affected by the war.

Zelenska also thanked Levite for visiting Ukrainian soldiers receiving medical treatment in Latvia on several occasions.

The Ukrainian first lady also warmly refers to the patronage of Levite for the book "Bilingvala abece" (Latvian-Ukrainian Illustrated ABC): "I am convinced that this project will contribute to the fastest possible integration of our children into Latvian society, and Latvian children will also be able to participate in the study of the Ukrainian language, culture and customs."

Zelenska says she would be happy to continue the friendship and wishes the Levits success in their future activities, peace and well-being.
