ARRAIOLOS, Portugal - On Oct. 18 the heads of state of six countries, including both present and future EU members, called for the strengthening of public support for the European project at a time of "hesitation and doubts."Latvia's Vaira Vike-Freiberga, together with the presidents of Finland, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Portugal, participated in an informal meeting in the southern Portuguese town of Arraiolos.
