Do you want to be a writer or a journalist? Do you want to be published in an international newspaper? By entering The Baltic Times writer’s competition you can achieve it all.

The Baltic Times’ competition is giving young journalists the chance to win one of three tablets, online and print publication and a subscription to The Baltic Times.

Word count: 1,800.
Deadline: August 15, 2014.

The Topics:

"Implication of Ukrainian crisis for the Baltic region.”“Demographic challenges in the Baltics: the impact of emigration and population decline.”“Ten years in the EU. Did the Baltics make the right choice?”Any topic of your choosing.

 

Submissions will be judged by a panel of professional journalists.
Winners will be announced on The Baltic Times blog a few weeks after the deadline.

Contestants who wish to take part in the competition should first email the article’s topic with their name, email and home address to [email protected].

The three winners will be awarded a tablet and a subscription to The Baltic Times. The best article will be published in the print and online editions of The Baltic Times newspaper. The Baltic Times reserves the right to publish the submitted articles.

This is not an opinion piece. You are writing a journalistic article on your chosen topic. That means you need to present a balanced, researched article that includes quotes and material to back up the story and refer to sources where appropriate.
