Winter continues to grip Latvia as the lowest temperature was registered in the city of Rezekne (eastern Latvia) - minus 19.7 degrees on Jan.20 , the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center reports.
The temperature in Zoseni was minus 18.1 degrees, in Priekuli and Daugavpils - minus 18 degrees, in Gulbene - minus 17.7 degrees, in Aluksne - minus 16.6 degrees.
Temperatures were slightly higher in northern Vidzeme and Zemgale - minus 14.6 degrees in Ainazi, minus 15.5 degrees in Rujiena.
In Zemgale, temperatures were at around minus 15 degrees - minus 15.2 degrees in Jelgava, minus 15.1 degrees in Bauska and Dobele.
In Kurzeme, temps ranged from minus 14.8 degrees in Stende to minus 5.4 degrees in Kolka. The temperature in Liepaja was minus 12 degrees, in Ventspils - minus 10.7 degrees.
The temperature in Riga was minus 13.6 degrees at 8 a.m, reports LETA.
