The outcomes of Lithuania’s EU presidency

A year ago, I asked in a kiosk in Vilnius for a postage stamp to send a letter to Brussels, Belgium. The price for sending letters within the EU is cheaper than prices for sending to non-EU countries. The saleswoman in the kiosk asked, “Is Brussels, Belgium, situated in the European Union?” After the six month-long Lithuanian presidency over the EU Council, which finished on Dec. 31, probably such questions would not be asked anymore because Lithuania’s EU Presidency was the top news in Lithuania in 2013, and Lithuanians acquired more knowledge about the EU during this ...
