Riga hospital searched amid corruption claims

One person has been questioned at the Paul Stradins hospital in Riga

Anti corruption officials searched a Riga hospital last week amid corruption claims.

One hospital official was taken in for questioning at the Pauls Stradins University Hospital in Riga, reports LETA. A criminal investigation has been launched in to activities at the hospital.

Officials have refused to comment on why members of the Corruption Prevention Bureau entered the hospital. However, a spokesperson for the CPB confirmed a criminal process against a hospital official on suspicion of carrying out illegal activities for profit was carried out in December.
