Ilves names Farmer of the Year
TOOLS OF THE TRADE: Despite its Internet society, agriculture plays a large role in Estonia’s economy.
TALLINN - Estonian farmers are more interested in the Common Agricultural Policy of Europe, the seven-year budget of the European Union (EU) and Estonia’s own agricultural development plan than the local elections, Estonia’s President Toomas Hendrick Ilves noted when presenting the Farmer of the Year 2013 award, reports LETA.
The competition, held by the weekly Maaleht, was won by cattle and cereal farmer Tonu Post.
