Joint Baltic Armed Forces

In a recent Latvian national news (LETA) article, there was a short article about Latvian President Andris Berzins, who recently expressed the idea of establishing a joint Baltic Armed Forces, and the reactions by some to that idea. Both Latvian and Estonian defense ministers responded negatively to the idea. Latvian Defense Minister Andris Pabriks felt that a lack of precedence, budget concerns and that the Baltic armed forces already have strong regional cooperation makes this proposal unnecessary.
