Belarusian culture minister visits Latvia

RIGA - Belarusian Culture Minister Boris Svetlov is visiting Latvia today to meet with his Latvian counterpart Zaneta Jaunzeme-Grende (All For Latvia!-For Fatherland And Freedom/LNNK) and sign Latvian-Belarusian cultural cooperation program for 2013-2015.

The program envisages expanding Latvian-Belarusian cultural cooperation and establishing new contacts, information and cultural events exchange, Culture Ministry's public relations officer Iveta Berzina-Bebrisa told LETA.

Both ministers will have a meeting on March 14 to discuss Latvian-Belarusian cooperation in culture and cultural developments in both countries.

Svetlov will also unveil a commemorative plaque to Belarusian poet and writer Yanka Kupala at the Riga Belarusian Primary School, and meet with members of the Belarusian Diaspora in Latvia.
