New government’s program approved by Seimas

VILNIUS - The Seimas approved of the government program for 2012 - 2016 submitted by incoming Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius today.

After the deliberation and voting on the government’s program, the oath of the new ministers is scheduled. Afterwards, the sixteenth Lithuanian government will have power to act.

The new government program was supported by 83 MPs, 39 were against and 9 abstained.

The government program discusses the key values, reviews the inherited situation in Lithuania and outlines the main directions and urgent priorities of the 2012-2016 government.
