Government works professionally - PM

RIGA - Despite disagreements among coalition partners, the government is working professionally, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) told the LNT morning show "900 sekundes" today.

The PM declined to assess individual ministers, saying that at least one year must pass for each minister to be assessed individually.

Asked how acting Justice Minister Zanete Jaunzeme-Grende (VL-TB/LNNK) is doing in her job after the resignation of her party colleague, former Justice Minister Gaidis Berzins, even though there are important issues in her own area of responsibility - culture, Dombrovskis pointed out that Jaunzeme-Grende has assumed these duties only temporary, until the appointment of a new justice minister.

As reported, Dombrovskis last week accepted Berzins' resignation, which the minister had handed in over his disagreements with the premier over the proposed restitution of Jewish properties.
