The population of Latvia is ageing rapidly. However, this situation is common throughout Europe. Recently, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark and Poland all increased their legal retirement age to 67 years, and the UK is going to increase its to 68 years. Thus, despite the fact that 86 percent of the population in Latvia is worried about the increase of the retirement age, it is inevitable.
