Estonia has had, through history, one of the most vulnerable geopolitical positions in the world. Over the last 800 years, conquerors have come and gone. Today, Estonia seems perhaps more secure than it has ever been. The country has worked hard to be accepted as a full member of NATO and contributes to international missions. The inherent vulnerabilities are, however, still there. The threats are new – territorial aggression seems unlikely.
