RIGA - On Dec. 8, Saeima approved the 2012 national budget and the accompanying bills in the first reading, reports LETA.
56 parliament members voted for the bill, 40 voted against.
Proposals for the second reading can be submitted by Dec. 9, with the Cabinet reviewing them on Monday, Dec. 12. The Budget Committee will receive them on Dec. 13-14, with final budget vote and adoption scheduled for Dec. 15.
As reported, the budget bill, its accompanying bills and the medium-term macroeconomic development and fiscal policy framework for 2012-2014 were endorsed by the government on Dec. 5.
