VILNIUS - Deputy Lithuanian health minister Arturas Skikas has been arrested on charges of corruption.

Skikas stands accused of accepting a 20,000 litas bribe from the head of an unnamed public organization.

“The Vice Minister ArtÅ«ras Skikas case shows that there is no impunity. I congratulate the Special Investigation Services’ determination to examine the highest-ranking public officials, of course, if the investigation proves the vice minister’s guilt,” Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius said about the arrest.
