Estonia considers eurovision pull-out

Oct 30, 2009
Oskars Magone

TALLINN - Anneli Toevere-Kaur, media relations manager at Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR), has said that the country's pulling out of the Eurovision song contest is "the most possible scenario", esctoday.com has reported.

"Giving up Eurovision participation in 2010 is being discussed because of the 28 million kroons budget cut of ERR, but the final decision has not yet been made," she said.

The pull-out would make Estonia the third country to end participation in the event, following similar moves by Hungary and the Czech Republic, the site reported.

Estonia, which has participated in the contest since 1994, won the event in 2001.
