Latvia hit with swine flu

RIGA- Latvia has confirmed its first case of the H1N1 (swine) flu virus. The nation's Public Health Agency announced that the infected woman, who had recently visited the United States and Canada, had returned to Latvia on June 21.

"Symptoms of the illness were discovered during the flight and after landing she was put in hospital at the Latvian Infectology Center, where is she is being treated," the agency said.


Latvia
is the second Baltic nation after Estoniato have confirmed a case of the swine flu virus.
