PANEVEZYS - During a visit to Panevėžys district on 18 July, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas urged businesspeople to cooperate more actively with Lithuanian diplomats in searching for business partners abroad.

Vaitiekūnas indicated that the doors to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lithuanian diplomatic representations were open to businessmen and their suggestions, and said the Lithuanian diplomatic service protected business interests of Lithuania in every way, according to a subsequent statement issued by the ministry.

However, he also encouraged Lithuanian businessmen to unite abroad and to promote a mutual dialogue themselves, adding that the diplomatic service actively supported the establishment of Lithuanian business clubs abroad.

The Minister also expressed pleasure in the interest of Lithuanian businessmen during his recent visits to Central Asia, the Balkans, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and elsewhere.
