Sculptures covered with posters

Jun 17, 2008
In cooperation with BNS

VILNIUS -  A poster covering the soviet soldier sculpture on the GreenBridge in Vilnius caught the eye of many morning commuters reading: "All of our own left in 1993, and we were left behind. Take us to our motherland".

Two box plates with red lettering were upheld by a soldier's feet from both sides of the sculpture. The poster was spotted about 6 a.m. and was still in place at press time.

Other four soviet sculptures depicting peasants, workers and the intelligentsia were left untouched.

Soviet sculptures left on the GreenBridge have been the subject of heated debates and conflicts for many years.
