TALLINN-Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov at a press conference on Friday announced that he is prepared to cancel the current visa regime with Estonia.

The announcement came after a meeting with the Estonian Foreign Minister in Tallinn. The decision should be followed by signing a contract on readmission in the coming months.

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said he hoped that a contract on double tax evasion with Azerbaijan will also come this year.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister also added that Azerbaijan will open an embassy in Estonia later this year.

Estonian Foreign Minister also noted that Azerbaijan is an important in the EU for forming their energy security system. Estonia is also interested in furthering cooperation with Azerbaijan within NATO peacekeeping missions.
