Three more Latvians succumb to moonshine in Gulbene.

The hospital in Gulbene reported that, in the last week, three more people have been admitted with complications of drinking poor quality alcohol (Krutka), most likely of a homemade origin. The two men and one woman admitted last week were all middle aged and from Gulbene, the regional paper Dzirkstele reported on Jan 23. The paper also reported that one 45 year-old patient from the Tirza region has been treated. The 56 year-old man from Tirza was able to continue his treatment at home, but he had one to care for him. The hospital in Gulbene is currently treating 30 patients with toxic hepatitis due to drinking alcohol of poor quality.
