TALLINN - Estonia's Culture Minister Raivo Palmaru sustained slight injuries as his car went off the road on Thursday evening.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. on the road to the western seaside resort Haapsalu. The minister lost control of his Audi A6 and the vehicle ended up in the ditch, BNS reported.
According to spokespeople for the North police prefecture, the car that minister was driving first veered into the opposite lane, then into the ditch and then rolled over.
It was a lucky accident, police said, because if another car had been coming from the opposite direction the consequences could have been very grave.
Palmaru complained of chest pains after the accident and was given emergency treatment by medics on the spot. The minister did not need to be hospitalized.
The minister was sober at the time of the accident.
