TALLINN - The government has approved a national broadcasting bill that merges public service television with radio.
The national broadcasting corporation will be established as the legal successor of Eesti Televisioon (Estonian Television, ETV) and Eesti Raadio (Radio Estonia) without discontinuing the existing legal entities, spokespeople for the government said.
According to the bill, the highest body of the national broadcasting corporation will be a council that plans its activities, manages broadcasting arrangements and supervises the work of the board. The council will consist of 12 members of Parliament.
