Bush congratulates Brazauskas

VILNIUS 's U.S. President George W. Bush wrote a letter to Lithuania's resigned Prime Minister Algirdas Brazauskas, thanking him for the work he has done and congratulating the country's achievements.
According to the letter, Lithuania's accession to NATO and the European Union symbolize the country's historic achievement and has strengthened the two organizations.
Bush also mentioned "warm memories" of his visit to Vilnius in November 2002 and Brazauskas' trip to Washington D.C. in March 2004 to celebrate Lithuania's NATO accession, the press service reported.
Bush said that the United States appreciated its partnership with Lithuania in the development of freedom, noting the Baltic state's efforts to support democratic development in countries on the path to freedom.
