TALLINN 's Estonian Film directors Hardi Volmer and Vahur Laiapea are working on a documentary about President Arnold Ruutel. The film will cover his youth and political career during the Soviet occupation, Eesti Paevaleht reported.
Laiapea, the film's producer and author, said that, while the documentary's idea was influenced by the upcoming presidential elections, the film itself will not be shown until after the elections, and thus cannot be used for campaigning.
"Why not remember a time that is slipping from our minds - that many young people don't remember at all - from which we, just like Arnold Ruutel, have emerged," Laiapea told Eesti Paevaleht.
