TALLINN - Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation has contacted Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian authorities asking them not to ban the entry of cars with Russian license plates, according to a tweet by Maria Pevchikh, chair of the foundation's board of directors, Postimees reports.

The letter states that the decision to ban the entry of cars with Russian license plates would not harm Putin's regime but rather its opponents, who are forced to leave the country.

Such measures would reduce the effectiveness of sanctions directed against Russia and discredit the idea of these sanctions, while at the same time providing new arguments for the Kremlin's propaganda, Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation argues.
